Engineered Embroidered Leather
All nine faces of the eight dining room chairs are embroidered leather, giving dual challenges of pattern matching and working on leather. It stretches and shrinks when worked. With too many stiches it splits apart. With too few stitches the design looks skimpy. Stitches must be perfectly placed.
Flat Stitch with Covered Buttons
After working with the designer's ideas, our staff artists created a hand drawn sketch for the designer's approval. Additional knowledge of fabric and type of stitch allowed a pattern to be drawn on velum and perforated to create a "stencil" for transferring the paper design to fabric.
